"Have you always wanted to learn how to play the piano...?"

I am brand new to Woodland Park, CO (Feb 2020) and looking forward to our new life in the city above the clouds! I have spent my life working as a piano teacher, pianist, composer, arranger, editor, flutist, church choir member (and wife, mom, crafter, and all-around musical nut.)

I am not about winning in music, but I am about cultivating the desire for music above all else. I love uncovering each student's natural abilities to help them to learn about music, to love music, and how to make music to the best of their ability.

For over 30 years I have taught students of all ages and levels; from K-80 (kindergarten to age 80), collegiate level to preschool, group lessons, etc. The past decade I have been working full-time managing the educational piano publications for Hal Leonard (the world's largest print music publisher) editing, presenting, and authoring hundreds of publications. I stepped down in September 2019 to return to my roots spending more time teaching and writing music. My husband Mark teaches band in Colorado Springs, my daughter is a HS choir director in Lakewood, CO (yes this is why we moved here after living in St. Louis for many years) and my son is a music producer and jazz musician in NYC. We are "all in" when it comes to music. My mother taught piano for 35 years, so it is just what we do!

I am a longtime member of MTNA (Music Teachers National Association and joined the affiliated local Pikes Peak Music Teachers Association upon our arrival in Colorado. Please click here to read my bio.
